...Wertkauf. One year later, another acquisition deal involving 74 units of the market chain Interspar was negotiated between Wal-Mart Inc and Spar Handels AG. (Arndt, Knorr, 2003) The negotiations were a success, and through the acquisitions Wal-Mart had quickly evolved into one of the biggest operators in the German hypermarket industry. Though the first acquisition was considered to be a wise investment because of Wertkauf’s previous success, Interspar was not looked at the same way. The Interspar hypermarket chain was in serious need of financial reformation as the business itself was unprofitable. Wal-Mart did manage to improve the line of former Interspar hypermarkets; however other factors played a role in the failure of our expansion. This report will disclose non-financial aspects of Wal-Mart’s failure to succeed in Germany. Problem Statement Wal-Mart needs to adjust its business plan in a way that facilitates cultural understanding and adheres to the laws and regulations of Germany. Measurable Objective and Long-term Goal With a very small market share at 1.1%, (Sundarji, 2012) turnover of 2.9 billion Euros and further losses of 1 billion Euros, (Arndt, 2003) a long-term goal would be to make the business profitable, increase employee satisfaction and. Quantitative Research Report

...Analysis and Implications for Practice of Quantitative Research Report Introduction: It is very essential to avoid miscommunication among the health care providers since it leads to decreased staff and patient satisfaction. In health care now it is a challenge to create an environment in which open and free communication takes place. For this purpose, by using communication tools such as the situation background-assessment-recommendation (SBAR) method, interpersonal messages among the team members are clear even in stressful situations. At Went-Douglass Hospital, the management team decides to create a Transforming Care at the Bedside (TCAB) to help the nursing staff solve their problems in adapting the changes. The TCAB team consists of 20 nurses, pharmacists, care managers, physicians, clinical coordinators, educators, and supervisors. The main aim was to improve communications and hence improve satisfaction among health care employees and patients. Also, the TCAB planned to find a comfortable environment that best suits the patients, families and the health care providers. They implemented three major factors: moving the change of shift report to the bedside, initiating the safety huddle, and establishing nurse-physician “intentional” rounds at the bedside. The trial took place in a 28 bed medical/surgical unit, with the staff members participating in the trial. The results helped to improve the communication between staff and patient in a medical facility, and......

...'My approach to Business Reports and Research' I have decided to keep my sources in-house by utilizing LOIS; “Los Rios Online Information System”, as a base for sources. I am not opposed to other sources, but in the interest of time I am not able to devote the time necessary to vet other databases outside this academia environment. There is no doubt LOIS information is credible. To ensure I have some idea how to vet information sources. I did take the time to read about how to vet informational databases for future knowledge. I relied on the stands that I have already experienced with my academic journey. As a student that is about to graduate, I can honestly say Los Rios school district have provided many sources of information towards learning. Students just have to avail themselves to them. There has been many good experiences with fact finding since enrolling in ARC. To put it plainly, at this point I am very comfortable with LOIS. The choice to use LOIS alleviates any need for assessment. The plan is to gather US government own stats for the number of manufacture, businesses, business processes and jobs loss over the last two decades. Interviews and articles where elected officials, heads of governmental departments and CEO’s explaining when, why, where and how these major decisions impact the American way of life. Who benefits from such decisions? Limited the results to production of reports to within the last year. Because I plan to obtain articles or view points...

...To evaluate the difference in the level of discrimination towards people who have received psychiatric treatment; before and after watching an intervention video. Research Report Name Institutional Affiliations Abstract Background: Existing literature provides that intervention methods play a significant role in reducing the level of discrimination against people who have been treated for mental conditions. The study hypothesized that the level of discrimination would diminish after administration of a personal experience video of hearing voices. Method: A sample N=161 was used where participants filled in questionnaires regarding their behaviour against people who have been previously mentally ill. The questionnaires were filled before and after the participants watched an intervention video. Results: Initial results showed that the mean level of discrimination diminished after the intervention video was administered. A paired sample t-test showed a significant difference between the two situations. Discussion: The study attested to the hypothesis whereby it noted a change in the mean level of discrimination. The findings also open room for further studies on the same. Introduction A lot of research has been done on the levels of discrimination towards individuals who receive psychiatric treatment. Some of the studies have sought to determine the degree of prejudice before and after intervention methods have been applied to...

...what is traditional financial system? Traditional financial systems mean financial systems are used in companies before. Risks of traditional financial systems 1. Delays – The CEO needs the latest consolidated financials. The best finance can do is offer reports that are already weeks old – or reports based on today’s numbers that will be available next week. 2. Security Risks – Security is compromised when someone accidentally emails confidential reports to a vendor instead of the board of directors. 3. Errors – To create reports, the finance staff has to download data from one or more financial systems and aggregate, manipulate, and format the data in a spreadsheet – providing ample opportunity for errors and reducing finance productivity. 4. Increased Software Costs – The controller gets a $100,000 invoice for add-on data warehousing and reporting software – plus an HR request for $100,000/year for IT staff to manage them. Traditional Financial Systems vs. the Cloud The business world today is highly competitive, collaborative, and distributed. In order to gain a sustainable advantage, every stakeholder must make intelligent decisions based on real-time information. Companies rely on their financial systems to provide them with real-time, actionable, and relevant data that will help them build, plan, define, measure, and drive performance. Moving to a cloud-based financial system like Intact can help companies achieve the real-time visibility they need,......

...Introduction… Pg 3 Evaluation of Research as Quantitative… Pg 4 Evaluation of the Methodology… Pg 5 Explanation on how the researcher used this method… Pg 6 Comments on the contribution of the research… Pg 7 Conclusion… Pg 7 References… Pg 8 Introduction “Friction between Public Relations( PR) and advertising( marketing) comes from bad organizational alignment,” says Scott( Anonymous 66:3). This quote shows us there are many discrepancies between both fields. This quantitative study was conducted by Miss Margalit Toledano, from the “Management Communication Department” of The University of Waikato, New Zealand. By using questions compiled in the form of a survey, 39 New Zealand practitioners were tested. The research problem, questioned the influence of inter-profession challenges, by examining the differences between the PR and advertising industries (Toledano 230). This research problem is significant, because the results of the study showed that PR practitioners were not able to take advantage of the technology, such as social media, in an effort to leverage their professional status or improve their position within the company. This problem is made worse, through the reality that both PR and advertising are still looking for ways to benefit from social media, and both industries are still in the infancy stage of using social media. This research is important because “Social media......
