As a child growing up in los angles, California and with only one older sibling and my mother we had a lot of hardships. We moved a lot, never stayed in one place for more than a few months, my mom and my brother would always get into fights, my dad was on drugs and my mom kept me home-schooled and sheltered, causing me not to have a social life, or have any kind of friends for that matter. I grew up in an environment where my mom did business a lot because she had her own business and even as I child I would have to help with the family business. I learned about business and technology at a young age along with business. I know so much about business now because of my mother. And yeah at the time it was beneficial but then as time went on I became further behind in learning because I was not in school and the tutors I had were not certified in teaching, they would just be people that we knew. So every year it would get harder and harder for us. It even seems like we became homeless more and more each year. I’ve slept so many places and have been evicted out of the nicest house to the most raggedy motels. My brother and I have such a big age difference, so because of that he was mostly never around, he is 11 older than I, but he was always there for me. Eventually, when we realized there was nothing left for us in California my mother and I just got in our car and left California never to return again. So now were on our way to Georgia. My mom promised we were going to go back to California, she said that it was temporary, but of course, we stayed. We lived with her associate for a while then got our own place. Things started out good, until my mom was still up to her money hungry antics. Then things would go up and downhill, just like in California. We had the same pattern in Georgia it’s not like nothing even changed. We started moving a lot, getting kicked…...

My Past, Present Future

...My Past, Present, and Future Hard life does not equal reason for failure, but reason for determination. Even though it may seem with so much bad you are bound to fail, with all of my bad I'm bound to succeed. I have been through a lot in life, just as every single mother but I still have what it takes for my future success. Do you have what it takes for a brighter future? The first reason I believe hard times give you determination, is because I had a hard childhood growing up. Beginning with my father abusing my mother and he was never around, a mother who was struggling to figure out who she was and what she wanted in life, and how to take care of a teenager with so many bad experiences. My father was murdered in front of me and passed in my arms when I was seven years old. My only father figures I had left were my brothers who for their own reasons couldn’t be around much. I turned to alcohol at a young age thinking it would make my life better. I felt as if I was alone. I didn’t know I had people that would be there for me. All I knew was my immediate family and my friends, which were not good influences. My mother had turned to alcohol as well and I was always home alone or with my uncle John. I never wanted to go to school; however, my uncle encouraged me to do so. I continued to attend school and did the best I thought I could. I got into skating thanks to my uncle and that is how I got rid of my stress if I had it. Uncle John always took me and my friends to the......

Me Myself and My Future

...Actually, at this moment, I cannot seen myself 5 years from now, because I’m not expecting the better or best life in future. Cause for me, before you reach your dreams you have to work hard to fulfil your dreams, but hopefully I can get my dreams in a fastest way and in good way without stepping someone. After a few years I can see myself in the ship, navigating the ship at the oceans and travel all around the world. I know at this stage of my college life is the one of the hardest thing, because you are far from your family, and you have to work for your own life, I didn’t expect that this moment I can manage myself good, because at my high school life is different at this moment cause in high school you can be free at all times and there is a parent who can guide you and accept you even you gave them many problems. On high school there is parents wash your clothes, preparing your meal and etc. this moment that I am studying here at MPFC, this is my stepping stone to achieve my goal and dreams. After 5 years from now I can see myself at a ship or a luxury ship or a big ship meeting different types of person. I can see myself successful, helping my family and others. I can see myself a great man serving other people, I can see myself enjoying my life, I can see myself a inspiration to others that they can tell he or I a successful man. ...SPEECH ABOUT “MY FUTURE” STUDENT NAME- becky MODULE TITLE- ACADEMIC WRITING MODULE CODE- PF013 WORD COUNT- 750-1000 THE SUBJECT OF MY SPEECH IS “MY FUTURE” Hello ladies and gentlemen. My name is Bukky Dada. I am a student of Greenwich School of Management, and I’m studying Business Management. I am honoured to stand here before you to give a short speech about “MY FUTURE”. I can recollect the day l received my letter of admission to Greenwich School of Management, l was so excited because l was one step closer to my dreams. I had worked with “Compass Group” for 6years as a chef, so l knew a lot about catering. Before coming to this country, back home in Nigeria l used to work in the hotel as an assistant manager. I have come up with three plans for my future, which is to own a big restaurant, give my children better a future, so it will be easier for them to concentrate more in school,( because without education, there is really no future for anyone) and lastly, set up an orphanage to help the poor in my country. My perfectly laid plan for myself is unavoidably. I had always wanted to be a business woman, own two to three big restaurants with lots of staff working for me, and being my own boss. This is something l had wanted since l was a child. I understand and believe that l have to upgrade myself to achieve some certain goals in life. Some of these goals are personal to me while the others are professional. Now l have come to a cross road in my......

My Future

...was, all I heard from my mother's side of the family was about the University of Michigan and the great heritage it has. Many a Saturday afternoon my grandfather would devote to me, by sitting me down in front of the television and reminiscing about the University of Michigan while halftime occurred during a Michigan Wolverines football game. Later, as I grew older and universities took on greater meaning, my mother and uncle, both alumni of the University of Michigan, took me to see their old stamping grounds. From first sight, the university looked frightening because of its size, but with such a large school comes diversity of people and of academic and non-academic events. In Springfield High School, non-academic clubs such as the Future Physicians and the Pylon, both of which I have belonged to for two years, give me an opportunity to see both the business world and the medical world. These two clubs have given me a greater sense of what these careers may be like. In Future Physicians, I participated in field trips to children's hospitals and also participated in two blood banks. Currently I hold a job at Maas Brothers. This lets me interact with people outside my own immediate environment. I meet different kinds of people, in diffrent moods, with different attitudes, and with different values. This job teaches me to be patient with people, to have responsibility, and to appreciate people for what they are. In the community I am active in my church Youth Group.......

I will gain trust of company and join the business trip for extra experience. In a way I can also travel around the glob, well at least some parts of the world and learn about the culture there while working. Then, I would apply for transfer to IBM,Korea and work there permenantly. By the age of 25 or 26, I want to get married and have a dreamy honeymoon holiday in Sanctuary Villa, Parrot Cay, Turks and Caicos Island. This villa is one of the most private resorts where there is private beach and the best getaway that anyone can ever hope for. After a year later, I hope get a baby. I don’t mind the gender. Last but not least, I want to be able to create and master all potato recipies. It might sound absurd but potato is one of them main cooking ingrediant I want to work with. ...assistance to get me started with my education. Without a doubt, college preparation is new to me. So, there is a lot that I will have to learn. If I receive this $1,000 scholarship, it will be of immense help to me. I could use it towards my books for my classes and towards tuition. It would relieve some of the stress knowing I have gratefully been given $1,000 that is not coming out of my parent’s pockets. At a young age, I have always had a passion for animals. All I ever dreamed of was having a puppy to grow up with. By the time I reached high school, I had two English Springer Spaniels named Shayla and Shiloh. When I was younger, my mind was set on going to Auburn University to become a veterinarian because it was the only school I ever heard of. For as long as I could remember, that was all I inspired to be. But, as I got older, I realized I also loved being in the presence of kids. My career goal automatically changed into wanting to become a teacher. I had the desire to want to be an inspiration to the kids in my community and to be a factor for why they are successful in life. It would touch my heart if one of my students ever looked up to me and said “because of you, I didn’t give up”. Those are the moments that I would long for. The greatest gift of all will be watching my students thrive. By the time my sophomore year rolled around, I became more intrigued with kids. So, I decided to go into the Early Childhood Program that my school had to offer. I knew in......

...behavior occurs. There is also a negative reinforcement that comes along if the beneficiaries did not comply to the conditionalities of the program, they cannot receive cash benefit. Same as if the beneficiary will not work closely to the field worker and will not find ways to contribute to the conditions of the services that will be provided to them, they cannot survive, they cannot help themselves to uplift their living conditions. Give a man a fish and he’ll eat for a day, but teach him how to fish and he’ll eat for a lifetime. This principle is at the core of a new way of doing social assistance in the Philippines. Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) programs provide benefits to families on the condition that they invest in their children future. ANALYSIS AND RECOMMENDATION CCT Beneficiaries and Behavioral Change - Behaviour, aside from non-responsive social structures, inequality, and lack of access to opportunities is among the many tentacles that contribute to poverty. The conditional cash transfer encourages behavioural change among its clientele-the poor. The conditions that they must comply are the “ideals”, of say for example, how a mother should take care of her children. Though it encourages behavioural change; mother personally ensure that her child is in school, breastfeeding her newborn, active participation in community affairs etc., but this does not ensure a sustaining behavioural change. Compliance of conditions could not be totally attributed to......

My Past, Present, and Future

...My Past, Present, and Future PSY 202 My past was my future, and both were full of doubt and unwillingness to continue my education after I graduated from high school. After high school, three individuals impacted my life and changed my views on family, life, and education. Several years passed with me working a steady job until I found myself almost unemployed and needing the education I had not pursued. This resulted in my decision to join the Army to support my financial needs. I felt satisfied with my employment, until I decided to have a family of my own and with this expansion; I knew I had to further my education to meet the requirements to excel in my career. These life experiences changed my views on family, life, and education. Unfortunately, I was always unbalanced and unable to meet the educational needs that needed to be settled in my life. The three individuals that have influenced my life, and who have helped me become the person that I am today are my father, my uncle, and my wife. Their influence has greatly affected who I am and who I want to be. Urie Bronfenbrenner stated, “Ecological theory proposes that human development is best explained in terms of the interaction between individuals and the environments in which they live or have lived” (Witt & Mossler, 2010, p. 53). My father was a big influence, directing me to conduct myself as a man should. He instilled morals, beliefs, and responsibilities that helped me to look for the good in everyone...

My Past, Present and Future

...My Past, Present, and Future I never thought I would be 42 years old and writing a paper like this one. I had planned to go to college right after high school, but life does not always happen according to plan. In this paper, I will present a brief description of a few of my life experiences that have helped shape the person I am today and analyze some of these experiences using the adult development theories from this class. I will also look ahead to the goals I want to accomplish in the future. I grew up in a military family. Both my dad and my mother had enlisted in the U.S. Air Force after they graduated from high school, and they met when they were stationed at the same air base. As mom tells it, my dad asked her out on a date several times, but she always refused because she thought he was a little wild. However, Mom was an early-morning person, and Dad was a night owl. One evening, my mother was assigned to work the graveyard shift on a security detail, and she had trouble staying awake. Dad did her a favor by working her shift for her, so she thought she at least owed him one date. The rest, as they say, is history. My earliest childhood memories were of growing up on Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi, as the oldest of five children. As the family grew, my mother left the Air Force, but my father continued in military service. My siblings and I are all about two years apart in age, and my childhood was fairly ordinary until I was about ten years old,......
