...FS 6903 ADVANCED SEMINAR IN ECE DISSERTATION EVALUATION Statement of the Problem The statement of the problem was to note that a large body of research documents the importance of parental engagement and social involvement. There is a large body of research that has been ignored in third world countries. There is a need for further research to examine parental engagement from a broader perspective. The Purpose of the Research The purpose of this study was to examine teacher’s perceptions and beliefs about parent engagement in children’s school activities in the primary schools in Nairobi, Kenya. The study also investigated teacher’s self-efficacy in terms of efficacy to influence decision making, efficacy to influence school resources, instruction self-efficacy, and disciplinary self-efficacy, and efficacy to enlist parental engagement, efficacy to enlist community involvement, and efficacy to create a positive school climate. Research Questions There were three research questions, 1) What are the perceptions and beliefs of Kenyan teachers about school and family partnership? 2) What are Kenyan teachers attitudes regarding their self-efficacy in the school environment? 3) Are the correlations between teacher’s perceptions and beliefs about school and family partnerships and their attitudes regarding self-efficacy? Mas Privatisation

...15% Title of essay: On 8 August 2014, Khazanah National announced plans to privatise Malaysia Airlines (MAS) in an attempt to revive the national carrier as it was struggling financially. Without doubt, the twin aviation disasters, MH370 and MH17, have also further contributed negatively towards MAS financials. The former prime minister of Malaysia, Dr Mahathir Mohamad said that the national flag carrier should be privatised as it is running at a loss. The Malaysia Airlines System Employees Union (Maseu), on the other hand, strongly stated that they will only support the privatisation of MAS if there is to be a new management team. In the past 12 years, MAS has undertaken about half-a-dozen restructuring exercises. Considering its current situation, the idea to privatise is seen as a necessity. In your opinion, can MAS turn itself around if it is now to be privatised? Why or why not? Justify your stand and support your arguments with reasons and examples. You should write between 600 and 650 words. Instructor: Mrs Anuratha Murugagoo On 8 August 2014, Khazanah Nasional Berhad (“Khazanah”) proposed an official petition to the Board of Directors of Malaysian Airline System Berhad (“MAS”) to handle a particular capital cutback and refund apply (“Proposed SCR”) of MAS’ ordinary shares. It shows the strategies of Khazanah National to privatise Malaysia Airlines (MAS) in an effort to recover the federal carrier while it was striving financially. Privatisation can be......

...That is why in this climate I can insert the argument of the competences I have discussed before, the transversal competences, made known in 1973 by David McClelland to the publication of the article “Testing for Competence rather than Intelligence”. He was the scientist that through a long series of empirical investigations, he reach the demonstration that an excellent performance on the work place could lead not only to the technical and specialised competences, or to the IQ of the employee but also and most of all to a series of soft skills such as personality, motivation and the concept that individual has of himself, a sort of self-actualization, that are all the intrinsic and durable values of the subject. The second part of the dissertation describes, in concrete one of the project I was involved during the internship in Dubai at Global Management Consultants where I was taking part of the training delivered for one of the biggest Retail Company of Middle East, called Sharaf DG. The aim was to understand how all this work in concrete and which are the real benefits, once an organization look for soft-skills trainings for her employees. ...interesting at a company and even more with the arrival of new technologies. I want to make my dissertation on this, because I want to expand my knowledge about marketing, and so remain in the trend by taking the e-marketing with e-commerce also. Then I think it's a relevant topic in the current period in which we live, we must know that the new generation of people is increasingly technological and use it for everything. And this new generation of people will become the largest share of customers in stores. Then it is important to understand the role of new technologies, either at the level of consumer behaviour but also about improving sales processes and marketing techniques. To complete my "literature review", and thus improve my analysis, I will prepare a questionnaire on consumer behaviour in order to give a conclusion on the arrival of new technologies and consumer behaviour. I do not intend to target a group of people for the questionnaire to be given a general, but thereafter may be the same questionnaire again with only a group of people from the Generation Y or Z. I would also do a research in stores to get record on e-commerce, these aspects but also on marketing technical implementation in line with the new information and communications technology. This store could give me feedback in terms of its e-commerce, and confirm my reading experience review. Throughout my dissertation, I will liken my own research but also questionnaires and interviews in order to give......
