Being a good person means having a good personality. Psychology studies personality based on theories of individual differences. One emphasis in this area is to construct a coherent picture of a person and his or her major psychological processes. Another emphasis views personality as the study of individual differences, in other words, how people differ from each other. A third area of emphasis examines human nature and how all people are similar to one other. These three viewpoints merge together in the study of personality. Basically it’s having a good personality is what makes you a good person.
Almost every individual struggles to achieve the status of a good person, a good person being a person who doesn’t see the negative in others, a good person being who has good morals and who has a sensitive approach to other’s feelings. Being a good person means to be that exact person everyone wants to talk and wants to be around. Having the qualities of a good person is what I want to be like when I grow. That’s one of many quality I want to have.
As I grow up into a separate responsible individual, I want to be represented as a confident, responsible, trustworthy individual. Confidence is the key to make people more appealing in public. Confidence is what makes you a strong individual, a strong individual who is ready to face the world. That’s the type of a person who is attractive in the community and being confident leads the person to become a leader in his society. That’s what I want to achieve as I mature the title of being confident as well as the title of being responsible, as the major signs of maturity is being responsible. With every aspect of growing up any individual should be subjected to be responsible. What Does It Take to Be a Good Person?

...embraces in order to be a good person. The first is integrity. It encompasses all of the traits that make a truly “good” person, such as honesty and being morally upright. An individual with integrity will keep their word, they won’t go behind your back, and they follow a code of ethics that make them predictable, but safe. No unpleasant surprises come from someone with a high sense of integrity and they adhere to principles of common decency. Courage is the next character trait a good person should have. Someone who can’t and won’t stand up for their own beliefs will definitely no stand up for you or anyone else. A sense of humor is a great character trait for a good person. Life is full of ups and downs and everything is easier if one keeps a sense of humor, or at least surrounds oneself with those who have one. Intelligence, education, and common sense are important builders of character. I have met plenty of people with high IQ’s and no common sense. My personal belief is that common sense, social intelligence, and “street smarts” are pretty much all in the same. Being able to solve the most difficult math problem won’t make you a good partner or friend, if they cannot hold a conversation, relate to others, and have zero social skills. ...to operate with selfish motives and are blind to the fact that we are actually doing it. We have grown to be conditioned to having selfish motives when interacting with one another. As individuals we are always are looking for ways to get the hottest gear, the coolest electronics, and so we try almost anything to obtain these things. Using someone is the easiest way to get these things. Copper says that “Regarding material goods, he or she who finishes the game with the most toys wins (72).” We feel as though having more things to show off to the world, gives us more acceptance from it. This gives us the perception that we are wealthy or better off when we obtain a lot of materialistic things. We go through extensive lengths to obtain these things, even if it means using people. For example, a guy has a crush on a girl so he spoils her; he buys her so many fancy and expensive gifts, so in return she goes out with him. She may not genuinely like him for him but, she finds herself blinded by what he can do for her and really does not like him as a person. We do it so subtly that we have developed this as a sort of a norm and may not really realize what are doing is in fact wrong. To classify how you interact with people based off of what they can do for you, is a pretty messed up way to live. ...they're a good model for the early phases. Google looked a lot like a charity in the beginning. They didn't have ads for over a year. At year 1, Google was indistinguishable from a nonprofit. If a nonprofit or government organization had started a project to index the web, Google at year 1 is the limit of what they'd have produced. Back when I was working on spam filters I thought it would be a good idea to have a web-based email service with good spam filtering. I wasn't thinking of it as a company. I just wanted to keep people from getting spammed. But as I thought more about this project, I realized it would probably have to be a company. It would cost something to run, and it would be a pain to fund with grants and donations. That was a surprising realization. Companies often claim to be benevolent, but it was surprising to realize there were purely benevolent projects that had to be embodied as companies to work. I didn't want to start another company, so I didn't do it. But if someone had, they'd probably be quite rich now. There was a window of about two years when spam was increasing rapidly but all the big email services had terrible filters. If someone had launched a new, spam-free mail service, users would have flocked to it. Notice the pattern here? From either direction we get to the same spot. So, what do we mean by goods, products and services? This is a book about service, but what is a ‘service’ and how is it different to ‘goods’ or ‘products’? Good Will

...on Kant’s views on good will and moral worth, along with some real life examples, Socrates’s discussion on differences between mere true belief and real knowledge of virtue and several other philosophers’ unique interpretations and related discussions on this topic. Kant makes a clear argument about good will in the very beginning of his book Grounding for the Metaphysics of Morals. He explicitly states that: “There is no possibility of thinking anything at all in the world, or even out of it, which can be regarded as good without qualification, except a good will. (Kant 7)” Kant believes that a good will is always morally good. Therefore, what a good will does is always morally good as well. ...Bigger Person Mahatma Gandhi’s quote, “First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight you. Then you win,” demonstrates how people are quick to judge and how being the bigger person pays off. Being the bigger person results in a quicker solution than arguing about the topic. Being the bigger person additionally enables the person to feel good about themselves. They can view themselves as more mature and strong-minded. Gandhi is teaching his audience how to win a fight against ignorant people through this quote. “First they ignore you,” is referring to the beginning of the argument when people judge you, and do not take you seriously. ...Tamyra Hamilton Susan LaPlant ENGL 1102 K 2 April 2015 Be Good or Be Good At It In the article “Parents Notification Policies for Underage Drinking Evolve” by Jenna Johnson she discusses the pros and cons of informing a parent about their child’s alcohol-related actions that they condone at universities. Johnson seems to be on the fence throughout the whole article on whether she agrees or disagree with informing parents on every little detail in their child’s life pertaining to consuming or even just being around alcohol. In the article, Johnson quotes the vice president of student affairs at Virginia Tech, Edward Spencer, when he states “[s]tudents are more concerned about their parents being notified than they are of the legal consequences,” which is true because parents are more terrifying than any form of law enforcement (qtd. in Johnson). Regardless of how minor a situation is parents should be notified if their child is in any situation pertaining to alcohol. It is better for parents to know and be upset for a little while with their child than it is for the parents to not know and possibly not even have a child to be upset with because their child could be taken away from them.
