* The concept of leading and following is radically different from the one in any other dance. There is virtually no pushing or pulling. The lady follows by "feeling" the shoulders or the space between them - essentially trying to keep them parallel and in front of her partner's. This requires her permanent attention (connection) - the man needs to be her focus - otherwise she cannot follow. Likewise, the man has to be very clear and decisive with what he is doing or is intending to do - otherwise the lady has no chance to follow. He also must listen and respond to the way the lady moves - and every lady moves and feels differently. Thus, dancing Tango is really more like a conversation that requires the full attention of both dancers. * Tango music does not follow strict rules like e.g. Viennese waltz or Cha Cha music which have a clear repetetive pattern. Especially the more contemporary Tango music tends to have no constant rhythmic pattern at all (e.g. Piazolla). Thus, the music is usually very colourful full of unexpected variations and surprises. * Rhythm is created using "melodic" instruments rather than percussion instruments - a bit like in most classical music. Typical Tango instruments are the bass, cello, violin, piano, flute and of course the soul of traditional Tango music the Bandoneon an accordion like instrument but with more keys and much harder to play. * Because of the nature of the music, there is no basic step for the dancers. Beginners often learn sequences of moves for didactic purposes. However, 99% of all Tango moves may be separated into six categories: cuts (saccadas), hooks (ganchos), foot sweeps (barridas), circles (giros), ochos and walks. Many movements are difficult to translate in English or other languages so that they are better known in their original Spanish name which I put in brackets. * Dancers can choose…...

Tango

...Tango Ever heard of the phrase “it takes two to tango”? Well, it is true! Tango is one of the most intimate and romantic dances in the world. Often called, “the dance of love”, tango involves a man leading and the woman following in close, coordinated steps. The music played, the way the dancers look at each, the movement of the legs and hips; the whole environment of the dance is passionate. You can find the origins of tango in Argentina. However, it only became popular when the dance hit Europe. Tango did a lot of evolving in Europe. More complex moves were starting to be added to this dance style, like the famous Spanish dip. This is also the time when tango began being done in theaters, and ballrooms for the higher class. It got to the U.S. by the 1910s, and by then, everyone seemed to be mystified by this complex, emotional dance. Tango uses both quick and slow steps, because of its changing rhythms; the dancers mostly step on the ½, ¼, and 1/8 of the beat. It can also be danced to fast or slow music. Although, I prefer faster pace music for this genre of dance, for example Objection by Shakira, it adds more feeling to the dance. This is an extremely partner oriented dance as well, both partners needs to be perfectly in sync for the tango to be well executed. The tango also involves some of the fanciest footwork I have ever seen, not to mention the swirls, sharp body turns, dips. All this makes tango a very hard dance to master. Being from Brazil, the Argentinean...

References Biography Deming was a well known professor who taught at New York University Graduate school of Business and Administration and at Columbia University. One of Deming’s ideas on quality control was prominent in Japan. Deming philosophy and teaching where shown by examining the kind of results of how much was produced after it was adopted by any other industry. This was known as the Deming System which is a very effective method. Ford Motor Company adopted Deming's idea which was called quality / culture". Deming's famous Management-Program consists of 14 points for improvement and 7 of things to be avoided. Most of these points are trivial. Deming created this idea quality / culture in 1930. This helped the Ford Motor Company because it was making a car model with transmission made in U.S. and Japan. Customers wanted U.S cars with japans transmission but the parts were not compatible until they went ahead and changed every part. Deming System The idea of W. Edwards Deming may be common now but they’ve become combined in our culture of work. The idea of hard work, sincerity, decency, and personal responsibility, has change the way our management was. “It’s not enough to just do your best at work; you must know what you should work on.” The simple......

...What is a biography? A biography is a written account of the series of events that make up a person's life. Every student will write a biography at some point, but the level of detail and sophistication will differ. A fourth grade biography will be much different from a middle school-level biography or a high school or college-level biography. However, each biography will include the basic details. The first information you should gather in your research will include biographical details and facts. You must use a trustworthy resource to ensure that your information is accurate. Basic details include: * Date and place of birth and death * Family information * Lifetime accomplishments * Major events of life * Effects/impact on society, historical significance While this information is necessary to your project, these dry facts, on their own, don't really make a very good biography. Once you've found these basics, you'll want to dig a little deeper. You choose a certain person because you think he or she is interesting, so you certainly don't want to burden your paper with an inventory of boring facts. Your goal is to impress your reader! You'll want to start off with great first sentence. It's a good idea to begin with a really interesting statement, a little known fact, or really intriguing event. You should avoid starting out with a standard but boring line like: "Meriwether Lewis was born in Virginia in 1774." Instead, try starting with......

...Sheri Gualandi ECON111 Denise Stauthammer Biography November 9, 2014 Lower Gas Prices Possible Boost to the Economy The end of October 2014 brought with it lower gas prices for American consumers. It has been a very long time since gas prices have been below $3.00 per gallon at the pump and the benefits of the lower prices will help the American people from all walks of life ranging from people who live paycheck to paycheck, people on fixed incomes, and college students. The money saved from the lower gas prices will be an opportunity for people to spend more on things that may be considered little extras like dinner out, going to the movies, or taking in a concert. With the holiday months approaching, the extra money saved from not having to pay so much at the pump will allow for people to splurge and buy that special gift that they otherwise wouldn’t have been able to. While the lower gas prices are helping American consumers, the oil industry is taking a hit due to the lower crude prices. These lower crude prices are also helping industries such as farmers, trucking companies, railroads, and airlines. Prices at the grocery store as well as many other retailers will decline because they will also save money with lower fuel surcharges that tend to fluctuate with the cost for fuel. Lower crude prices will also help consumers save money on home heating costs this winter which will translate into more extra spending. More spending will help our economy rebound even more...

...Tango Argentina Tango often appears in the elite class in society which the ladies wear glittering evening gowns and gentlemen wear the tuxedoes and dance under tango music, but tango is originated from a lower class in society. In twentieth century, many immigrants came to Argentina from Europe, Africa, and flocked to Buenos Aires suburb, Argentina brothel. From there, a mixture of cultures creates a new kind of music and dance - it was the Tango. Although researchers’ musical history has pretty much controversy about the authenticity of its origin, it is acknowledged that tango was combined from several different countries. For instance, tone was knocked on drums by African slave; milonga was music of South America moors combined between Indian and Spanish, and also the other influences which include Latin. In Latin, tango is “tangere” which means two people are adjacent to each other. Therefore, people believe tango was from Latin. The massive migration of Europeans come to the Argentina affect to both tango music and dance. During 1980, the population of immigrants came to Buenos Aires was increased from 850,000 to 1.7 million (Gannon, 2013, 5th ed., pp. 568). Unskilled worker, women and children had to work in unhealthy environment. Lives of immigrants at that time were a difficult and completely different from elite and middle classes, but at that time they have grown up a dance presented a shadow of their lower class. Most of immigrants were poor men and their......

This is my first semester in college I am working towards obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. I decided to go back to school because I was working for a company that went out of business and I found that I needed to get a degree in order to keep doing what I love doing most and that is working in an accounting office. Going back in school has been challenging for me because it has been a long time since I have gone to school. It was pretty intimidating for me to go through the enrollment process, because I kept questioning whether I could cut it this late in life. I am presently unemployed because the company I was working for went out of business. I previously worked for a full service restoration company (construction). I started out working as the administrative assistant for the CFO and from there I moved onto other positions. The position I loved doing the most was in the accounting office and that is the reason I decided to go back to school and get a degree in accounting. Although some of these impressions are positive ones; however, others may be negative. A person’s childhood will often have a great influence on a person’s personality and character. An individual’s identity will be a reflection of their religious beliefs, ethnic background, gender, as well as their birth order. All of these will aid in the development of their own uniqueness.
