When I was in the fourth grade I was in the airport ready to fly to Florida and that’s when it all started, I got stopped at security, I got lost, my flight was delayed, and my entire beloved luggage was lost. It was fun, adventurous, and exciting, but it was also stress full, chaotic, and a good learning experience.

It was 6:00 am when me, my mom, and my sister arrived to the airport, I was so excited I ran around bending over backwards trying to hurry and get on the plane. Everything was going great, We got our luggage weighed checked in, and sent off. I remember looking in one of the gift shops and seeing this “BIG MISTAKE” eraser and saying,
“Mom can we please stop and get that”
She said
“Now we don’t have time”
But I ran in grabbed a pink one bought it and left as I stuck it in one of my carry ons.

Well we arrived at the station where you walk through the detectors, I set my bag down all worried my earrings would set it off , then I walked through it and sure enough beep ,beep ,beep, I set the alarms on it off, or I guess you could say my “BIG MISTAKE” eraser did. As soon as I set it off they pulled my mom off to the side and gave her a pat down, when they realized it was my eraser that set it off they just laughed.

After we were stopped at security I was panicking because it was then 7 am and we were boarding at 7:45. I was trying to help my mom find our gate, but I think I just confused her, we were lost, It seemed like we were walking past the same desks, just going in circles. I was so worried I was balling thinking we weren’t going to make the flight and I wouldn’t be able to go to Florida, so my mom asked one of the ladies for help and then we found our gate.

When we finally found our gate it was 7:40, we went to the desk I had my ticket in my hand, and the lady at the desk said “Your flight has been delayed you will be boarding the…...

In other words, we must always do this. The categorical imperative is also a priority, which means it will always be and have always been morally good. As such, we have a duty to recognize, and accept, its moral validity and finality. This means that the categorical imperative is not good on the basis of any effects or consequences it might produce, or even because someone or something else tell us it is good to do it. It is simply good in itself. Immanuel Kant developed a set of ethics to guide our decisions and help us judge whether certain actions are morally correct.  According to Kant, the morality of every action must be carefully thought out beforehand.  Thinking about all aspects of an action, or moral testing, can help to determine if an act should be performed at all.  Kant introduced logical, objective methods to serve as a basis for distinguishing between what is right and what is wrong.  He holds a common theme throughout his Kantian moral philosophy, that every act should be an accurate representation of a universal maxim. Gone Baby Gone

...Ariana Di Ventura Mrs. Rossi Section 114-5 April 28,2014 Gone Baby Gone The Principle of Utility can simply be stated as, actions are right in proportion to how much they promote happiness, and wrong as they tend to produce the reverse of happiness. In other words the theory is that it determines the rightness or wrongness of an action by its consequences, by the happiness or unhappiness it produces. The more people the outcome makes happy the better or rightness an action is regardless of the actions that took place to achieve this happiness. Capt. Jack Doyel, would play the part of the Utilitarian aspect of the movie. When Capt. Jack Doyel says "Thought you would've done that by now. You know why you haven't? Because you think this might be an irreparable mistake. Because deep inside you, you know it doesn't matter what the rules say. When the lights go out, and you ask yourself "is she better off here or better off there", you know the answer. And you always will. You... you could do a right thing here. A good thing. Men live their whole lives without getting this chance. You walk away from it, you may not regret it when you get home. You may not regret it for a year, but when you get to where I am, I promise you, you will. I'll be dead, you'll be old. But she... she'll be dragging around a couple of tattered, damaged children of her own, and you'll be the one who has to tell them you're sorry." you can see where his position about taking the girl is. ...shape the context of the message and will affect what you say and how you say it” (Alred, 2010). So with the message I have chosen they start with an actor portrayal of situation in which LifeAlert could be useful, and then cut to all the facts about LifeAlert. By the company portraying all the information after the scene you can tell that they are trying to sell their product by showing why you would need LifeAlert. Content Analysis As stated previously there are six steps that the Heath Brothers believe to be key in making a message stick, Simple, Unexpected, Concrete, Credible, Emotional, and Stories. I believe my message to be unsuccessful because it did not meet Simple, Unexpected, and Credible steps that the heath brothers have gone over. The reason the message I have chosen does not meet the Simple category is because I believe they did a poor job of prioritizing the way they laid out the information. The beginning is so overdramatized that the viewer either didn’t finish the commercial all the way, or you only remember the actor portrayal rather than the information itself. I believe my message does not fit the unexpected category because there is nothing that creates a knowledge gap so to say. The commercial starts off right away with filling a knowledge gap that hasn’t even been created in the first place, so this commercial doesn’t do a good job of grabbing your attention and because of the over dramatization people tend to be offended by it. This message...

Bic Underwear: Brand Extension Gone Wrong

...BIC UNDERWEAR: Brand Extension Gone Wrong February 28, 2015 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Brand expansion is an excellent way for a company to position itself in different markets. When done correctly, brand expansion can strengthen a brand and provide great financial growth for an organization. When a company already has a recognizable brand, it can make entering a new market a much more pleasant experience, if the new product clearly aligns with the other products of that brand. In this paper we will discuss the brand expansion attempt of BIC. BIC is successful for its disposable consumer products. As of 2014, BIC holds 34% of the market for Stationary products (making it the second market leader in North America), 30% of the market for Lighters (making it the number one market leader worldwide), and 19% of the market for Shaving razors (making it the second market leader in North America). (BIC, n.d). BIC has held a dominant position in these markets for years (as early as the 1970’s). In 1998, BIC made the bold decision to try its luck at launching a line of women’s disposable underwear and panties. I. History BIC was founded in 1945 in Europe by Marcel Bich, when he manufactured the fountain pen and mechanical pencil. Around this time ball point pens were becoming increasingly popular in Europe and increasingly expensive (selling for $12.50 on average). In addition to being expensive, the pens available on the market were known to clog and leak frequently. BIC......

Recruiting Gone Wrong

...Recruiting Gone Wrong Sean P. Mahoney COMM215 February 13, 2011 Mark Polanzak Recruiting Gone Wrong In every recruitment effort, as for almost every other situation, quality is always more important than quantity. There is no more effective tool than proper training. In this case there is no more effective tool for failure than insufficient training. As the legendary Ben Franklin once said, “By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail." In the case of Carl Robins, and a recruit mishap that may be far reaching, I will be discussing the events leading up to the mishaps and what actions could have been implemented that may have prevented them from happening. You see, Carl, was a brand new campus recruiter. He was tasked with scheduling the indoctrination and initial training for all of his recruits. Unfortunately, he scheduled all of them, at least 15, at the same time and location as an already schedule training. This scheduling conflict is one that could and will lead to other conflicts. The first issue may be that Carl was left to accomplish his first recruiting efforts by himself. This man Carl has to have a certain number of recruits show up to be trained but, it seems like he was not trained on how to accomplish his tasks or goals. This tells us a lot about Carl and the company as a whole. If the company can not train the face of the company on such an important task as proper procedures of recruiting, than how can these new recruits be......

Cignet: Process Gone Wrong

...Reacting to a Process Gone Wrong Cignet Plastics Corporation is a contract plastics die-casting house serving a wide range of clients. Over the years, Cignet has been a favored supplier of precision die castings for a major producer of model airplane kits. In recent days the defect rate of these parts has increased. (Acceptance is based on a visual inspection of the parts for appearance.) After a thorough audit of the process, Quality Assurance has concluded that there has been no change to the process. It claims that the increase in defects must be variation that is related to some assignable cause. The president of Cignet Plastics does not have a clue as to what that means, and he has called you in for an explanation. DISCUSSION QUESTIONS Discuss the following questions in class or outside of class with your fellow students: 1. What will you tell the president? 2. He wants you to change the process to reduce the number of defects, but you know that is the wrong approach. How do you talk him out of it? 3. What approach would you use to get the operation back to normal? Write a 700- to 1,050-word paper answering the discussion questions at the end of Discussion Assignment 15-1. Also, address the following and support your thoughts with specific examples: • Why is it important for managers to employ process thinking? identify at least two quality management tools that could be used to present data and persuade the president? Why would you use these......

Copyright Gone Wrong

...Intellectual Property: Copyright Gone Wrong Bradlee Melton American InterContinental University Abstract Copyright is a form of intellectual property pertaining mostly to the creative arts such as music, novels, paintings, drawings, and film. When copyright was first created, its duration was fourteen years. In the past three hundred years since its creation, copyright duration has been extended several times. The last of these extensions extended copyright duration to the life of the creator plus seventy years, making copyright almost perpetual. In this modern age of lightning fast computing, copyright law is outdated and needs to be drastically reconsidered. Many have turned to the open source movement to try to escape the tyranny of copyright. Through the open source movement, several high-quality products have been produced and given to the public free of charge, whether it is music or software. Congress has made no effort to remedy the situation at hand. This essay poses the question: With copyright gone wrong, what do the people do? Intellectual Property: Copyright Gone Wrong Intellectual property or IP pertains to creations of the mind. It is broken down into two subcategories: industrial property and copyright. Industrial property includes inventions, trademarks, and other things used for industrial commerce, while copyright involves anything of the literary or artistic fields such as poems, novels, music, drawings, and paintings (WIPO, 2012)...
